Manatee Co Sheriff on Rx Drug Abuse – Community Forum in Sarasota 2.28.11 – On Feb. 28th, 2011, Congressman Vern Buchanan hosted a town hall meeting about the rx drug crisis, at City Hall in Sarasota. The Dep Asst Admin of the DEA, FL Attorney General Special Prosecutor Dave Aronberg, and Sheriffs from Manatee and Sarasota County were on hand to discuss federal, state, and county-level efforts to address the problem. The Community Health Improvement Partnership, which is undertaking a major initiative to address prescription drug misuse, was on hand to capture some of the discussion. www.chip4health.org/saferx
